My first pen

This was made as a gift for my fiance, I had just finished turning it here, I made the upper half out of Ebony and sanded to 600 grit while the lower section is Purpleheart and sanded with micro mesh to about 1100 grit. It doesn't look purple because it is a photochemical process that causes it to change, So the freshly exposed wood is fairly brown. I'll post finished pics later.
